Common Log Files locations Of cPanel Servers

Logs location files for cPanel,apache,error ,emails,whm and mysql

One of the powerfull of cPanel based servers is that keep the location of key files in the same place across all of the various cPanel versions .that help you to trace and find out any issue in your server . The following guide covers the most locations of the log files for things such as access logs, Apache web server logs, email logs, error logs, ftp logs, MySQL logs, and WHM logs.

cPanel Log Files Location

Log Description Log File Location
Apache Access logs and user actions ,this log used to log all http requests to ether the hostname of the server, requests directed at the servers IPs, or sites that resolve to the server but are no longer hosted on it /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log
Backup logs : This directory contains the cPanel backup log files /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup
RoundCube logs : This directory contains the log files for Roundcube Webmail,including error logs and sendmail log. /var/cpanel/roundcube/log/
Horde logs : This directory contains the log files for Horde , including horde_.log and horde_stesares.log. /var/cpanel/horde/log/
SquirrelMail logs : This directory contains the log files for SquirrelMail,included version log. /var/cpanel/squirrelmail/
Panic logs : This file contains a cPanel account’s severe error logs. /usr/local/cpanel/logs/panic_log
Brute force protection (cphulkd) log: This file contains the cphulkd daemon’s activity logs. /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cphulkd.log
cPanel & WHM service manager daemon’s activity log: This file contains the cPanel & WHM service manager daemon’s (cpsrvd) activity logs. /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpwrapd_log
License updates and errors: This file contains the cPanel account’s license update logs and license errors. /usr/local/cpanel/logs/license_log
DBmapping Log: This file contains the cPanel account’s database-related activities. /usr/local/cpanel/logs/setupdbmap_log

WebDisk error log: This file contains WebDisk’s error logs. /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpdavd_error_log
Website statistics log: This file contains the bandwidth statistics for all of the server’s cPanel accounts. /usr/local/cpanel/logs/stats_log
cPanel taskqueue processing daemon:This file contains the cPanel TaskQueue Processing daemon’s (queueprocd) logs. /usr/local/cpanel/logs/queueprocd.log
Domain access logs:This directory contains the FTP transaction logs for all of the cPanel account’s domains. /usr/local/apache/domlogs
Web server and CGI application error log:This file contains the error logs for Web Servers and CGI Applications. /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log
suPHP audit log:This file contains information about the suPHP Apache module audit logs. This is useful, for example, to diagnose internal server errors that do not produce relevant information in the error log.. /usr/local/apache/logs/suphp_log

Receipt and delivery log: This file contains Exim’s mail receipt and delivery logs for the cPanel account’s domains. /var/log/exim_mainlog
Log of messages rejected based on ACLS or other policies: This file contains a log of messages that the system rejected due to ACLs. /var/log/exim_rejectlog
Unexpected/Fatal error log:This file contains Exim’s severe error logs. /var/log/exim_paniclog
IMAP, POP login attempts, transactions, fatal errors and spam scoring:This file contains IMAP and POP3 login attempts, transactions, fatal errors, and Apache SpamAssassin scores. /var/log/maillog,/var/log/messages
Incoming mail queue log:This file contains email in queue. /var/spool/exim/input/
