How to install Perl on Linux OS using SSH

What is Perl?

Perl is a general-purpose programming language originally developed for text manipulation and now used for a wide range of tasks including system administration, web development, network programming, GUI development, and more.

How to install Perl

Login to your server using SSH as root using pUTTY program and run the following commands in order:

wget http://www.cpan.org/src/5.0/perl-5.22.1.tar.gz
tar -xzf perl-5.22.1.tar.gz
cd perl-5.22.1
./Configure -des -Dprefix=$HOME/localperl
make
make test
make install

GET Perl Latest releases

Version : 5.22.1 ; Type: Maint ; Released Date: 2015-12-13 ; Download File : perl-5.22.1.tar.gz
Version : 5.20.3 ; Type: Maint ; Released Date: 2015-09-12 ; Download File : perl-5.20.3.tar.gz
